On 19 March 2003, the Company granted awards of British American Tobacco p.l.c.
25p ordinary shares (the 'Shares') to the directors of British American Tobacco
listed below under the Long Term Incentive Plan at an award price of 598p per
Share. The awards are exercisable from 19 March 2006 to 18 March 2013, subject
to the satisfaction of performance conditions specified on the award date. The
maximum number of shares comprised in the awards granted to directors which
could vest if the performance conditions are met in full is shown opposite the
name of each director set out below.
