Management Board Changes
Tessa Raeburn is to retire as a member of the Management Board of British
American Tobacco as Director, Human Resources on 2 July, 2004. She will be
succeeded by Rudi Kindts (47) who is currently Head of Organisation Development
- Talent at British American Tobacco.
Rudi joined the Group in 1988 and has built up experience in Europe, Africa, the
Middle East and Asia, as well as performing roles in the Group's central Human
Resources function.
Commenting on the change, Paul Adams, British American Tobacco's Chief
Executive, said: "Tessa has achieved a great deal in the time she set herself.
She has made a major contribution to creating a winning environment in which
talented people can perform to the best of their ability and has also played a
vital role in developing a much more aligned leadership culture in the Group. I
wish her well in her new activities and welcome Rudi to the Management Board.
He has been closely involved in the process of change and is therefore ideally
placed to build on the significant progress achieved by Tessa and her team over
the past four years."
