The British Land Company PLC announces that it received the following
notification on 12th January 2005, pursuant to sections 198-202 of the Companies
Act 1985:
That FMR Corp. and its direct and indirect subsidiaries and Fidelity
International Limited and its direct and indirect subsidiaries are interested in
31,107,032 ordinary shares of 25p each, representing 6.00% of the total issued
ordinary share capital of the Company.
The Company also received notice that Mr Edward C Johnson 3rd, the principal
shareholder of FMR Corp. and Fidelity International Limited, was also deemed to
be interested in those shares.
