The British Land Company PLC announces that it received the following amended
notification on 14 February 2006, pursuant to sections 198-202 of the Companies
Act 1985:

That FMR Corp. and its direct and indirect subsidiaries and Fidelity
International Limited and its direct and indirect subsidiaries are interested in
56,404,915 ordinary shares of 25p each, representing 10.87% of the total issued
ordinary shares capital of the Company.

The Company also received notice that Mr Edward C Johnson 3rd, the principle
shareholder of FMR Corp. and Fidelity International Limited, was also deemed to
be interested in those shares.

Fidelity International also stated in their notification, that their previous
notification dated 20 January 2006 (and announced on 24 January 2006) was
incorrect.
