Appointment of non-executive director
The Board of British Smaller Companies VCT plc (the "Company") is pleased to announce the appointment of Rupert Cook as an independent non-executive director with effect from 1 August 2017.
Rupert specialises in corporate and business development, with twenty five years' experience of technology, sales, marketing and general management, including fifteen years in corporate finance and investment. Earlier in his career, he was a senior manager at Cap Gemini plc and then Director of Advisory Services at Interregnum plc.
Rupert is the founder of Red Penguin Ventures Limited, and was previously a partner at Realise Capital Partners LLP, both of which are firms which advise and invest in a range of technology businesses. Rupert is also a partner in MKRC Ventures, which has made eight investments in early-stage technology businesses since 2014.
Rupert brings a wealth of experience in smaller companies, notably in a variety of technology sectors, which will be invaluable as the Company invests in earlier stage businesses.
Mr Cook became Chairman of the Investment Committee on his appointment to the Board.
There are no details in respect of Mr Cook requiring disclosure under paragraphs 9.6.13R (1) to (6) of the Listing Rules.
