British Smaller Companies VCT plc (' the Company')

Further to the announcement of the Company's preliminary results made on 2
November 2005 the directors announce an alteration to the announcement with
regard to the payment date for the 2006 interim dividend.

The 2006 interim dividend of 1.5 pence per share, payable to shareholders on the
register as at 11 November 2005 will be paid on the 10 January 2006 and not 22
December 2005 as originally announced.
