Atlanta, GA - February 21, 2003 -- BellSouth (NYSE: BLS) Chief Executive Officer
Duane Ackerman will make an investor presentation at the Merrill Lynch Global
Communications Conference in New York City on Tuesday, February 25.

Mr. Ackerman's presentation, scheduled to start at approximately 10:00 AM
