Application has been made to the London Stock Exchange and the UK Listing
Authority for a Block listing of 1,000,000 Ordinary shares of 10p each of N
Brown Group plc to be admitted to the Official List.


The shares will be listed in connection with the following schemes: The Employee
Savings Related Share Option Scheme 1990; The N Brown Group plc Savings-Related
Share Option Scheme 2000; The N Brown Group plc Unapproved Discretionary Share
Option Scheme 2000 and The N Brown Group plc Company Share Option Plan.


The shares will rank pari passu in all respects with the existing issued
ordinary share capital of the company.
