                               N BROWN GROUP PLC


Application has been made to the London Stock Exchange and the UK Listing
Authority for a Block listing of 550,000 Ordinary shares of 11 1/19p each of N
Brown Group plc to be admitted to the Official List.

The shares will be listed in connection with the following schemes: The N Brown
Group plc Savings-Related Share Option Scheme 2000; The N Brown Group plc
Company Share Option Plan and The N Brown Group plc Long-Term Incentive Plan
(2004 revised) version. Of the shares it is expected that, 350,000 will be
issued pursuant to the N Brown Group plc Savings - Related Share Option Scheme
2000; 100,000 will be issued pursuant to the N Brown Group plc Company Share
Option Plan and 100,000 will be issued pursuant to the N Brown Group plc
Long-Term Incentive Plan (2004 revised) version.

The shares will rank pari passu in all respects with the existing issued
ordinary share capital of the company.
