The company wishes to announce that on 5 September 2001 Mr J Martin (Chief
Executive) and Mr T J Kowalski (Finance Director) technically ceased to be
beneficially interested in all of the shares of 10p each in the company held by
the N Brown Group Qualifying Employee Share Ownership Trust ('the QUEST') by
virtue of the QUEST transferring all the shares to various employees of the
company (not including Mr Martin or Mr Kowalski).
