The Brunner Investment Trust PLC announces that on 4th February 2002 it
re-purchased 25,000 Ordinary 25p Shares, (representing 0.04% of the issued class
of capital), at 351p per Ordinary Share, for cancellation.

Settlement and cancellation of the re-purchased 25,000 Ordinary Shares is due on
7th February 2002 when the issued share capital of the Trust will fall to
59,188,416 Ordinary 25p Shares.
