The Brunner Investment Trust PLC announces that on 5th April 2002 it
re-purchased 50,000 Ordinary 25p Shares, (representing 0.08% of the issued class
of capital), at 360p per Ordinary Share, for cancellation.

Settlement and cancellation of the re-purchased 50,000 Ordinary Shares is due on
10th April 2002 when the issued share capital of the Trust will fall to
59,063,416 Ordinary 25p Shares.
