The Brunner Investment Trust PLC announces that on 28th May 2002 it re-purchased
300,000 Ordinary 25p Shares, (representing 0.51% of the issued class of
capital), at 349p per Ordinary Share, for cancellation.

Settlement and cancellation of the re-purchased 300,000 Ordinary Shares is due
on 31st May 2002 when the issued share capital of the Trust will fall to
58,188,416 Ordinary 25p Shares.
