The Brunner Investment Trust PLC announces that on 22nd July 2002 it
re-purchased 90,000 Ordinary 25p Shares, (representing 0.15% of the issued class
of capital), at 265p per Ordinary Share, for cancellation.

Settlement and cancellation of the re-purchased 90,000 Ordinary Shares is due on
25th July 2002 when the issued share capital of the Trust will fall to
57,721,416 Ordinary 25p Shares.
