The Brunner Investment Trust PLC announces that on 27th September 2002 it
re-purchased 34,000 Ordinary 25p Shares, (representing 0. 06% of the issued
class of capital), at 247p per Ordinary Share, for cancellation.

Settlement and cancellation of the re-purchased 34,000 Ordinary Shares is due on
2nd October 2002 when the issued share capital of the Trust will fall to
57,507,416 Ordinary 25p Shares.
