The Brunner Investment Trust PLC announces that on 11th August 2003 it
re-purchased 200,000 Ordinary 25p Shares, (representing 0.37% of the issued
class of capital), at 253p per Ordinary Share, for cancellation.

Settlement and cancellation of the re-purchased 200,000 Ordinary Shares is due
on 14th August 2003 when the issued share capital of the Trust will fall to
55,910,416 Ordinary 25p Shares.
