At the Annual General Meeting of British Telecommunications plc which was held
on 18 July 2001, a poll was held on the following resolutions:

Votes AGAINST the resolution: 546,363,761

THAT Dr Anderson be re-elected as a director:
Votes FOR the resolution: 3,945,320,969
Votes AGAINST the resolution: 31,026,470
RESOLUTION 4
THAT Sir John Weston by re-elected as a director:
Votes FOR the resolution: 3,971,848,726
