British Telecommunications plc Completes Largest Ever US Dollar Corporate Bond
Issue
British Telecommunications plc successfully completed the largest ever US
dollar denominated corporate bond in history. The company issued a total of
$10 billion in four tranches of SEC-registered Global bonds with the following
terms:

The deal was distributed to over 250 investors from the U.S., Europe and Asia.
The proceeds from the offering will be used for general corporate purposes.
Merrill Lynch & Co., Morgan Stanley Dean Witter and Salomon Smith Barney
arranged the sale.
