                  BT AFFIRMS ITS COMMITMENT TO
                         E-COMMERCE SERVICES



BT today denied reports that it had shelved its

international web hosting plans.

     Robin Pauley, BT's director of group communications,

said: ' BT remains committed to the plan, announced in

April, to establish jointly with AT&T and Concert an

extensive international network of Internet data centres.

     ' Any suggestions that BT has abandoned or shelved

web hosting is simply wrong.'
