YELL APPOINTS CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
Yell, BT's newly renamed international directories and e-commerce business,
has appointed John Davis as Chief Financial Officer, reporting to Group Chief
Executive, John Condron.
Davis was previously Group Finance Director of Yahoo! Europe. Prior to that he
was with Pearson Inc. for three years, starting as Chief Financial Officer for
Pearson Inc. based in New York, followed by two years as Group Finance
Director of the Financial Times Group.
Davis is 38, married and lives in London. He took a degree in Accounting at
the University of Kent and then spent five years with Price Waterhouse where
he qualified as a Chartered Accountant. His corporate career began with EMAP
plc, where he held a number of positions including Director of Corporate
Finance/Treasury and Finance Director of EMAP Radio. In 1995 he obtained a
Masters in Management from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
Yell's Chief Executive John Condron said of the appointment;
'John has first class credentials for us - working at senior level in an
internet business and media groups. His achievements in adding value to those
businesses are impressive and we know he will bring a lot to us as we embark
on an exciting period in both on-line and paper directory products.'
