                           BUNZL EXPANDS IN AUSTRALIA                           

Bunzl plc, the international distribution and outsourcing Group, today announces
that it has acquired the business of Steven Salgo (Sales) Pty Limited from a
private company owned by John and Christine Scott. Based in Sydney with
operations also in Melbourne and Brisbane, Salgo is principally engaged in the
distribution of catering equipment and supplies to the hotel, restaurant and
catering sectors throughout eastern Australia. Revenue in the year ended 30 June
2007 was A$32.1 million and the gross assets acquired are estimated to be A$5
million.


Commenting on the acquisition, Michael Roney, Chief Executive of Bunzl, said:

'The acquisition of Salgo significantly expands our catering equipment and
supplies business in Australia. They have an excellent reputation in the
marketplace with a strong customer base and will provide the opportunity to
extend their product range into our existing business. We welcome them to the
Bunzl Group.'
