BUNZL EXPANDS IN SPAIN WITH ACQUISITION OF JUBA

Bunzl plc, the international distribution and outsourcing Group, today announces that it has acquired Juba Personal Protection Equipment S.L. and Guantes Juba S.A. from Juan Bautista Barrios, Juan Pedro Barrios, David Barrios, Conchita Barrios and Susana Barrios.

Juba, which is based near Logroño in the Rioĵa region, is a leading supplier of personal protection equipment, principally protective gloves and other workwear, to redistributors throughout Spain.  Revenue in the year ended 31 December 2009 was €21.9 million and the gross assets acquired are estimated to be €17 million.

Commenting on the acquisition, Michael Roney, Chief Executive of Bunzl, said:

"The acquisition of Juba represents a significant increase in the size of our personal protection equipment business in Spain and strengthens our position in this market which we entered in 2008 with the acquisition of Marca.  The business has a reputation for providing excellent service and innovative products.  We are delighted to welcome all their employees to the Group."
