                               Board Appointment

London, 3 April, 2006 --Burberry Group plc announces the appointment of
Stephanie George as a non-executive director.

Since 2001, Stephanie George has been with Time Inc. where she holds the
position of President with responsibility for the publishing divisions and
overall management of IN STYLE, REAL SIMPLE, ESSENCE and PARENTING. In addition
to the U.S. edition of IN STYLE, Ms George manages the magazine's expansion into
new media as well as the growth of the international editions in Australia,
Germany, the UK, Brazil, Korea, Greece, Spain and Russia. Prior to Time Inc., Ms
George spent 12 yrs at Fairchild Publications where she served as President,
Women's Wear Daily Worldwide.
