The Company wishes to announce that it received two notifications on 1 September
2005, pursuant to section 198 of the Companies Act 1985, stating that UBS AG,
acting through its business group and legal entities:

a)      had an interest in 15,478,921 ordinary shares of 0.05p each in the
capital of Burberry Group plc at 19 August 2005 (being 3.22% of the Company's
issued ordinary share capital); and

b)      ceased to have a notifiable interest in the Company's ordinary shares as
at the close of business on 29 August 2005.
