BURBERRY GROUP PLC: Transaction in Own Shares

Burberry Group plc ('the Company') announces that it has today purchased 44,402
of its ordinary shares of 0.05p each ('Shares') for cancellation.  Of these
Shares, 15,316 were purchased on-market from Morgan Stanley at a price of
407.9416 pence per Share and 29,086 were purchased off-market directly from GUS
Holdings Limited also at a price of 407.9416 pence per share in accordance with
the Agreement dated 20 December 2004 between the Company and GUS plc approved by
the Company's shareholders on 20 December 2004.
