Byotrol plc
wins best new product at annual
Society of Food Hygiene & Technology Awards
Byotrol plc ('Byotrol' or the 'Company'), the developer of anti microbial hygiene technologies, is pleased to announce its recent success at the annual Society of Food Hygiene & Technology (SOFHT) Awards, winning 'Best New Product' in recognition of its innovative technology and long lasting effectiveness.
At the 2009 award luncheon, held in London on Thursday 26 November 2009, SOFHT judges acknowledged that Byotrol's unique formulation and sanitisation properties could dramatically improve hygiene within food manufacturing, preparation and retail environments.
Byotrol has developed a water based microbial technology which forms an invisible layer on any surface, be it workstations, human hands or a factory floor. Independent tests have shown it delivers increased protection against bacteria fungi and viruses, including those that cause food spoilage and food poisoning. Unlike conventional disinfectants, Byotrol continues to work after it has dried providing round the clock protection in high care environments.
Despite its superior germ killing properties, Byotrol is so safe it would not cause harm even if ingested, making it perfect for use across the food industry.
Richard Werran, Managing Director of Cert ID Europe Ltd, the certification body that nominated Byotrol for the award says:
"Our auditors see the inside of many food factories worldwide and if there is one thing we could recommend to significantly improve hygiene it would be to use Byotrol, which clearly has the potential to significantly improve hygiene in food manufacturing, food service and retail sectors at a stroke."
Byotrol's food and beverage product range includes Byosan (broad spectrum food contact surface terminal sanitiser); Byodet (an advanced detergent-sanitiser); Byowipes (multi-surface wipes); Byocare (skin friendly, alcohol free, broad spectrum rapid kill hand hygiene); Byoclear (mould and mildew cleaner) - all available in small pack through to bulk supply.
Commenting on the award, David McRobbie, Chief Executive at Byotrol, who received the award said:
"I am delighted! It is always gratifying to be recognised by our own industry experts for the unique properties of our products, particularly when the award was presented to Byotrol in front of the leaders of the food industry.
"We have always recognised that the food industry takes a world lead in hygiene and this award underlines the significant opportunities for Byotrol products in the food sector. We have been encouraged by the new client conversations that have resulted from Byotrol receiving this award."
