CALEDONIA INVESTMENTS COMPLETES THE ACQUISITION OF THE LIBERATION GROUP
On 6 July 2016, Caledonia Investments plc ("Caledonia") announced (under RNS number 4074D) that it had agreed to acquire The Liberation Group Limited (Liberation"), the Channel Islands' market leading pub, restaurant and drinks business in a transaction which valued Liberation at £118m. The acquisition was conditional on the approval of the Channel Islands Competition and Regulatory Authorities, which Caledonia is pleased to advise has now been granted and accordingly the transaction has been completed.
Caledonia has acquired a 97.9% equity stake in Liberation for £71.0m, with Liberation's management team subscribing £1.5m, £0.1m more than originally anticipated. The balance of the acquisition costs has been funded by bank debt totalling £51.0m.
