Caledonia Investments PLC 12 May 2005 Caledonia Investments plc Acquisition of 22% stake in SIS Caledonia Investments plc ('Caledonia') is pleased to announce that it has acquired a 22% stake in Satellite Information Services (Holdings) Limited ('SIS'). The stake has been acquired from Thales PLC for £18 million in cash. SIS was founded in 1987 and its core business is the capture, production and distribution of betting related picture and text media. The company produces coverage of UK and international horseracing, greyhound and other betting events which it packages in a suite of dedicated services and distributes to over 9,000 licensed betting offices in the UK and Ireland. In other areas SIS provides media distribution and production services to a number of domestic and international clients that include three of the UK's largest news broadcasters. Other investors in the company include William Hill, Hilton Group, United Business Media, the Racecourse Association and the Tote. John May, a director of Caledonia, will be joining the SIS board. Commenting on the acquisition of the stake, Tim Ingram, Chief Executive of Caledonia, said: 'SIS is a well established and successful business. It has a pivotal role to play in the provision of content and data to the betting industry as well as developing other distribution and production services to media and broadcasting clients.
