Appointment of General Manager and Planning for Growth

LonZim Plc (AIM: LZM) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Edzo Wisman as General Manager of the Company, to be based in Harare, Zimbabwe.

Since 2003, Mr. Wisman was Founder and Managing Director of Toronto and New York based corporate advisory firm Stuart Lammert & Co. (SL&C). Prior to 2003 Mr. Wisman was Vice President, Investment Banking with CCFL (Toronto), and previously he worked at Wilshire Associates (Los Angeles, Amsterdam) and KLM Pension Funds (Amsterdam). 

Mr Wisman is a Trustee or Director of numerous organizations, including Director of a privately held affiliate of Anheuser-Busch InBev, Trustee of the Canadian Opera Foundation and Member of the Corporate Development Committee of the Canadian Opera Company, Member of the Advisory Board of Prisma Business Management, Trustee of the David Ferguson Memorial Fund and Director of the Canadian Netherlands Business and Professional Association.

Since last January Mr. Wisman has worked extensively with LonZim on developing and implementing a strategic plan to deliver further growth in existing LonZim businesses, while also reviewing new opportunities.  He has, among others, already brought increased focus and efficiencies to the Lonzim portfolio, while continuing to review their alignment with the improving economic climate in Zimbabwe.  Going forward, focus will be on ensuring the various Lonzim companies are 'best in class' within their respective industries in Zimbabwe, are well capitalized, and are first 'back to market' as the economy is recovering. Mr. Wisman, with the benefit of his extensive corporate finance expertise, is also spending time developing exciting new growth opportunities for the Company. Mr Wisman, who is not a Director of the Company, reports to the CEO of the Company.
