The issuer has made the following amendments to the SAR Disclosure announcement
released on Monday, 7 August 2000 at 13:54 under RNS No 0946P.

The class of share referred to in the title should read 'Ordinary 5p shares' and
not 'Income 5p shares' as previously shown.

The second paragraph should read 'The total number of shares managed by Aberdeen
Asset Managers Limited and its associated companies is 2,337,894 shares
representing 13.47% of the issued share capital of that class (previously
16.07%)' and not '....7,950,000 shares representing 16.14% (previously 17.05%)'
as previously shown.  

All other details remain unchanged.

shares of the above company on the 4th August 2000, on behalf of discretionary
funds under management.

The total number of shares managed by Aberdeen Asset Managers Limited and its
associated companies is 2,337,894 shares representing 13.47% of the issued share
capital of that class (previously 16.07%).
