Capita Board Appointment
Following the retirement of Rod Aldridge, Non-Executive Chairman, from the
Capita Group Plc ('Capita') at the end of July 2006, Capita is pleased to
announce that with effect from 1 August 2006, Mr Eric Walters will become the
Non-Executive Chairman of the Group. Eric Walters has been a Non-Executive
Director at Capita since January 2001.
Commenting on his appointment Eric Walters said, 'I am extremely pleased to be
taking up the chairmanship of Capita after its many years of success under Rod's
leadership. With Capita's excellent track record and the strong executive
management team led by Paul Pindar, I have every confidence in our ability to
continue to deliver value for all our stakeholders.'
Rod Aldridge, welcoming the appointment said, 'The Board is delighted that Eric
has agreed to become Capita's Non-Executive Chairman. Eric has been a
Non-Executive Director of the Group for more than five years and in that time
has gained a deep understanding of Capita's activities and its culture. He
has already made a significant contribution to the Group's development and I
believe that the management team will continue to go from strength to strength
under his chairmanship.'
Paul Pindar, Chief Executive of Capita added, 'Eric's wise counsel has been a
major asset to Capita since he joined the Board. I have a high degree of respect
for Eric's commercial judgement and I am looking forward to working with him in
his new role.'
Eric is an experienced Company Director and Venture Capitalist. He joined Capita
from private equity firm Alchemy Partners, where he was a senior partner.
Previously he held senior positions in Schroder Ventures, Grand Metropolitan Plc
and Lex Services plc. He is currently a senior partner in Englefield Capital and
holds non-executive directorships in a number of private companies. He maintains
a keen interest in supporting and advising Cambridge University's chemistry
department and Selwyn College, Cambridge. He has a Cambridge Natural Sciences
(chemistry) degree.
