Capita Group plc ('the Company')

SHARE REPURCHASE

Capita Group plc announces that it purchased 1,225,000 ordinary shares in the
Company on 22 July 2004 at an average price of 309.74p per share.  The highest
and lowest prices paid for these shares were 313.5p and 306.68p per share
respectively.  It is intended that these shares are to be held in Treasury.
Following the purchase, Capita Group plc holds 1,225,000 ordinary shares as
treasury shares.  The total number of ordinary shares in issue (excluding shares
held as treasury shares) is 668,398,336.
