THE CAPITA GROUP PLC
TRADING STATEMENT
The Capita Group Plc ('Capita'), the leading UK professional support services
company, is issuing this trading update in advance of its close period. The
preliminary results for the year ended 31 December 2003 are due to be announced
on Thursday 26 February 2004.
The Group is pleased with current trading and, as indicated previously, results
for 2003 will be in line with market expectations. Cash generation continues to
be strong.
To date this year, the Group has won major new contracts and extended existing
major contracts to a value of £615m. We are currently working on further bids
worth £2.4bn. In two of these bids we are in advanced sole discussions with the
clients and, subject to negotiations being successfully concluded, we anticipate
that these two contracts will add some £70m to revenues in 2004. Negotiations
with the Home Office on our contract involving the Criminal Records Bureau have
progressed well and will be concluded by the end of December.
Our markets in both the public and private sectors continue to exhibit good
momentum and are favourable to Capita's integrated service offering and the
infrastructure that we have in place. The Business Process Outsourcing market
remains buoyant.
The Group is confident that shareholders will be pleased by the Group's
performance for the year as a whole. We are also well positioned to continue
this in 2004 with a significant proportion of forecast revenue growth now
underpinned. The prospects for growth remain excellent.
