Capita Group plc ('the Company')

SHARE REPURCHASE

Capita Group plc announces that it purchased 1,000,000 ordinary shares in the
Company on 6 August 2004 at an average price of 304.90 per share. It is intended
that these shares are to be held in Treasury. Following the purchase, Capita
Group plc holds 7,775,000 ordinary shares as treasury shares. The total number
of ordinary shares in issue (excluding shares held as treasury shares) is
661,876,467.
