Cairn Energy PLC ('Cairn') has a 69% shareholding in Cairn India Limited ('Cairn
India'), which is listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange and National Stock
Exchange of India. Cairn remains listed on the London Stock Exchange and
consequently there are dual reporting obligations for Cairn and Cairn India.


In accordance with Indian reporting obligations, Cairn India announced its Q1
2007 financial results on 27 April 2007 and is scheduled to announce its Q2 2007
results on 30 July 2007. The Q2 results and operational update will also be
released to the UK market.


Cairn will announce its interim results on 11 September 2007.
