Notification of Operational Update and Preliminary Results

Cairn Energy PLC will announce its preliminary results for the year ended 31 December 2008, on Tuesday 24 March 2009. 

Ahead of the preliminary results announcement, Cairn will issue an operational update on Tuesday 20 January 2009. 

The company's interim results for the period ended 30 June 2009 will be announced on Thursday 27 August 2009.
