Carclo plc announces the appointment of Mr Noel Hutton as a non-executive
director with effect from 1 July 2004.

Noel, aged 54, joins the Board after recently retiring from Hammonds solicitors,
where he was a senior equity partner, specialising in corporate finance. He is a
non-executive director of Isle of Man International Broadcasting plc and Skipton
Building Society.

In accordance with paragraph 16.4 of the Listing Rules, no further details
regarding Noel Hutton are required to be disclosed under paragraph 6.F.2(b) to
(g).
