Carillion appoints deputy chairman

Carillion plc is pleased to announce the appointment of Philip Rogerson as a
non-executive director and deputy chairman of the company.

Philip Rogerson, aged 59, is currently chairman of Aggreko plc, THUS Group plc
and Viridian Group plc and a non-executive director of Davis Service Group plc
and Northgate plc. He was an executive director of BG plc from 1992 to 1998,
latterly as deputy chairman.

Commenting, Carillion chairman Sir Neville Simms said: 'Further to my
announcement at our AGM earlier in the year, I am delighted to welcome Philip to
the Group as deputy chairman. He brings considerable experience to the Board as
a business leader and will make a valuable contribution to shaping the future of
Carillion as it moves into a new phase of development and growth.'

There are no disclosures in respect of paragraph 6.F.2(b) to (g) of the FSA
Listing Rules.

Mr Rogerson has previously been a non-executive director of Celltech plc,
British Biotech plc, KBC Advanced Technologies plc, Limit plc, Project Telecom
plc and Wates City of London Properties plc.
