Carillion disposes of non-core businesses
Carillion, the UK's leading construction to services company,
has sold two non-core businesses.
Stanger Science and Environment - an environmental and
materials consultancy - has been sold to Casella Group Ltd for
£3.0m; and Cimage Enterprise Systems - which designs, develops
and distributes integrated information and document management
systems was acquired by the management team for £1.7 m.
Announcing the disposals, Carillion Chairman Sir Neville
Simms, says, 'These are two specialist businesses, which
although successful, were not core businesses in our strategy,
under which we are focusing on the growth sectors of Private
Finance, Infrastructure Management and Facilities Management
Services. Consequently, we decided to sell them to allow them
to continue their development under new ownership.'
Carillion's industry-leading environmental performance
improvement programme will continue to be supported by Stanger
Science and Environment under a long term service level
agreement.
