Newsplayer Group PLC 27 December 2001 27 December 2001 Newsplayer Acquires the Trade and Assets of Footage.Net Newsplayer Group plc (NPG), the new media group, today announces the acquisition of the trade and assets of Footage.Net, a leading stock footage portal, from eMotion Inc, based in Vienna, Virginia, USA. The acquisition has been made through NPG's wholly owned subsidiary NPG Inc (incorporated in Delaware, USA) for the consideration of US$500,000 in cash. The acquisition includes fixed assets and accounts receivable totalling US$150,000 and liabilities totalling US$5,000. Sales for Footage.Net for the year ended 31 December 2000 were US$191,000. Footage.Net manages the databases of many of the world's leading stock footage libraries, including those of ABC News, CNN, Action Sports and National Geographic, and makes them available to researchers and programme makers globally who are seeking to license clips for inclusion in a television or film production. NPG specialises in maximising the revenue potential in television and cinema content through the application of interactive technology.
