Grant of options

The  following options were granted to directors  of  the
Company  with effect from 26 October 1999 under  the  'B'
Executive  Scheme,  the  terms of which  include  minimum
performance  criteria  based on growth  in  earnings  per
ordinary  share  over a three year period  from  date  of
grant.  The options were granted at an exercise price of 
265p being the mid market price at close of business on 
22 October 1999.
