CAPITAL LEASE AVIATION PLC

("CLA" or the "Company")

TRANSACTION IN OWN SHARES

CLA, the commercial passenger aircraft leasing company, announces that it purchased 1,000,000 ordinary shares of 0.1p each in the Company on 15 January 2014 at a price of 15 pence per ordinary share representing approximately 1.02 per cent of the Company's current issued ordinary share capital. These 1,000,000 ordinary shares are to be held in treasury.

For the purposes of the Financial Conduct Authority's Disclosure and Transparency Rules, following the share buyback, the total number of ordinary shares in issue as at the date of this notice is 97,899,172, with 1,000,000 shares held in treasury.

Therefore the figure of 96,899,172 may be used by shareholders as the denominator for the calculations by which they can determine if they are required to notify their interest in, or a change to their interest in the Company, under the Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
