STATEMENT FROM CELTIC PLC ('CELTIC')
                                              
Mr Allan MacDonald has informed the Board of his intention
to resign from his position as Chief Executive of Celtic plc
and to return to a career outside the football sector.  The
resignation will take effect as soon as the company is able
to identify and appoint a successor.

The Board has begun the process of finding a replacement.
However, it has asked Mr MacDonald to continue to take the
lead in respect of Celtic's interests in the restructuring
of the European football league environment, until such time
as a constructive outcome is achieved.  Mr MacDonald has
agreed to do this for as long as the Board considers that
his involvement is in the best interests of Celtic.

The Board would like to acknowledge Allan's work to develop
Celtic's multimedia business which it believes will be an
important area of our business going forward and his work in
implementing the smooth disposal of Fergus McCann's shares.
