IAN McLEOD APPOINTED NEW CHIEF EXECUTIVE
Celtic today announced the appointment of Walmart Executive Director, Ian
McLeod (42) as the new Chief Executive of Celtic.
Brian Quinn, Celtic plc Chairman commented, 'I am very pleased to welcome Ian
McLeod to his new position as Chief Executive of Celtic. Ian has had
remarkable success in his career to date and possesses the ideal qualities to
drive Celtic forward.
'Ian will join Celtic from his current post as Executive Director and Chief
Merchandising Officer for Walmart in Germany.
'The personal and professional specifications the board of Celtic set for this
post were of the highest level. We were very fortunate to find someone who
matched these expectations and whom we know will bring to the role experience
of motivational management and extensive knowledge of the global business
market at a time when Celtic aims to fulfill its brand potential worldwide.
'I know that everyone will join me in welcoming Ian to Celtic and on behalf

'Ian will join the Celtic plc board as a director and will also chair the
Football Club Board when he takes up his appointment as Chief Executive in

Ian McLeod, Celtic Chief Executive designate comments, 'It is a tremendous

Notes to Editors:
Ian is a business studies graduate of Glasgow Caledonian University; he also
attended Harvard Business School in 1999 tostudy the Advanced Management
Programme.
Joining the Asda Group in 1981 as a Graduate Manager, Ian progressed rapidly
through the organisation's management structure, moving from his home in
Glasgow to the company's Head Office in Leeds in 1986. In 2000 Ian was
promoted to Executive Board Director for Walmart, Germany and Senior Vice-
President for Merchandise and Marketing.
A season ticket holder at Celtic Park, he attends matches regularly with his
son who lives in Glasgow. Ian is married and currently lives in Leeds with
his wife and two children.
