Centamin Egypt Limited 06 February 2008 06 February 2008 Centamin Egypt Limited ('Centamin' or 'the Company') NEW HIGH GRADE ZONE AT AMUN DEEPS INTERSECTED Centamin Egypt Limited ('Centamin' or 'the Company') (ASX:CNT, AIM:CEY, TSX:CEE) which is developing the first large scale modern gold mine in Egypt, is pleased to announce it has intersected a further extremely high grade zone of gold mineralization during its drilling program at the Sukari project in the Eastern Desert region. The intersection is a significant high grade structure parallel to and below the Hapi Zone. Significant assay results from D1280 are as follows: Interval Gold (g/t) Hole North East Azi Dip EOH (m) From (m) (m) D1280 10550 10843 -82 270 726.7 469 48 2.47 550 35 164.09 incl. 557 3 1,842.57 incl. 558 1 5,420.00 incl. 576 2 49.65 The high grade gold assay results in hole D1280 intersected spectacular visible gold and galena in a massive quartz vein (558 - 559m) figure 1 within highly mineralised porphyry, which was drilled as a step-out hole to test the down dip extension of the porphyry in the Amun zone on northing 10550N. This hole intersected a high grade zone of 35m @ 164.09g/t Au from 550m, containing a higher grade zone of 3m @ 1,842.57g/t Au from 557m (including 1m @ 5,420g/t Au from 558m with abundant visible gold). This deeper structure correlates to 6m @ 15.21g/t Au in hole RCD521 from 542m (figure 2) and 22m @ 21.83g/t Au from 549m in hole RCD1221 25m to the south (announced 21 November 2007). The current drill program has been very successful in targeting the down dip extension of the Hapi zone and deeper parallel high grade structures within the main porphyry, providing significant results over the past few months of focus in the Amun Deeps area. It remains the Company's strategy to drill further the Amun Deeps zone to add significant ounces to the global gold resource.
