                           Notification of Interest






The Company has received notification from Golden Prospect plc ('Golden
Prospect') that, as a result of its participation in the recent placing in
connection with the Company's admission to AIM, Golden Prospect is now
interested in a total of 20,666,667 ordinary shares of no par value in
Centamin. This represents 5.77% of Centamin's enlarged ordinary share capital.

In addition, the Company was notified that Golden Prospect holds 2,000,000
Options to subscribe for shares at A$0.20 on or before 3 March 2003.
