Holdings in Company

On 15 September 2008, Centamin Egypt Limited (TSX: CEE, ASX: CNT, AIM: CEY) received notification via ASX Form 603 (Notice of Initial Substantial Shareholder) of a change in the direct and indirect holdings of the Company's ordinary shares on behalf of the following entities:

• Massachusetts Mutual Insurance Company; 

• Oppenheimer Funds, Inc; and 

• Baring Asset Management Limited.

Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company is the parent company of Massachusetts Mutual Holding LLC and Massachusetts Mutual Holding LLC is the sole owner of each of the following subsidiaries (unless otherwise indicated):

• Oppenheimer Acquisition Corp (including its subsidiaries Oppenheimer Funds, Inc and Tremont Group Holdings, Inc) - (97.7%); and

• Massachusetts Mutual Baring Holding LLC (including its subsidiaries MassMutual Holdings (Bermuda) and Baring Asset Management Limited).

Following recent purchases of the Company's ordinary shares, the total number of votes attached to all the voting shares in the company or voting interests in the scheme that the substantial holder or an associate had a relevant interest in on the date the substantial holder became a substantial holder are as follows:
