Canadian Preliminary Short Form Prospectus

Centamin Egypt Limited (TSX: CEE, ASX: CNT, AIM: CEY) announces that the Canadian preliminary short form prospectus for the issue of 92,308,000 Ordinary Shares in connection with a bought deal to raise C$60,000,200 for the Company as announced on 21 January 2009, has been lodged with the Ontario Securities Commission. The full Canadian preliminary short form prospectus will be available on the Company's website www.centamin.com and on SEDAR www.sedar.com.
