Centaur Holdings plc (Centaur) acquires logistics magazines and awards
Centaur, the specialist business publishing and information company, is pleased
to announce that it has acquired Supply Chain Business and Logistics Europe,
magazines for logistics and supply chain professionals both in the UK and
Europe. It has also acquired the European Supply Chain Excellence Awards that is
complementary to Logistics Europe. The magazines and award have been bought from
UK Transport Press Ltd for a consideration of £0.3m.
This is Centaur's second logistics-related acquisition this year, as in February
Centaur entered the logistics community with the acquisition of Logistics
Manager and the two Logistics Link exhibitions. Since that purchase,
www.logisticsmanager.com has been launched and a new exhibition, Materials
Live!, has been announced.
Graham Sherren, Chairman and Chief Executive of Centaur, said: 'We are very
excited at the prospect of increasing our position in the logistics community
and the potential this move brings.'
Centaur's strategy is to build on its strength in the markets in which it
already operates, as well as looking for other communities where it can apply
its knowledge and expertise. This latest acquisition reflects the successful
continuation of that strategy.
Bernard Steel, Managing Director of UK Transport Press and publisher of Supply
Chain Business and Logistics Europe, said: 'The addition of the two magazines
and the Awards event to the Centaur logistics portfolio will expand the depth of
information provided to management and professionals in this critical business
function.'
Centaur is one of the UK's leading business-to-business publishers. Centaur's
publications include Marketing Week, New Media Age (NMA), Design Week, Creative
Review, The Lawyer, Finance Week, Money Marketing and The Engineer. It also has
a major Exhibitions division that runs around 20 exhibitions a year including
the Business Travel shows, several shows in the marketing and financial services
sectors and the Homebuilding & Renovating shows.
The Supply Chain Business and Logistics Europe operations will be moving to
Centaur's offices in central London in early November.
