Q3 2014 Production Update
Central Asia Metals plc (AIM: CAML), a copper producing company focused on base metals in Central Asia, today announces its quarterly production update for the Kounrad SX-EW copper recovery plant in Kazakhstan.
Summary:
· Q3 2014 record copper production - 3,337 tonnes (12.7% increase yoy)
· 2014 copper production to 30 September - 8,432 tonnes (7.8% increase yoy)
· Boiler house expansion commissioned
· On track to meet 2014 FY target of 11,000 tonnes
Kounrad Q3 2014 production of 3,337 tonnes (Q3 2013: 2,962 tonnes) of copper cathode is the highest quarterly output achieved since the start of operations in May 2012. Following the record Q3 production, the total 2014 output to date stands at 8,432 tonnes.
An additional 5.6MW of boiler capacity was commissioned by the end of September to facilitate increased production throughout the winter months. An area of 27 hectares on dumps 6 and 7 is also being covered with HDPE sheeting for winter leaching operations.
Kounrad production remains in line with the Company's 2014 full year production target of 11,000 tonnes.
